St Peter’s Harrogate

Parish Walk raises a staggering amount

Helen Harrison, Jan Edwards and Gillian Thornton left St Peter’s Church at 7:00 am on Saturday 20th June and walked the full planned route visiting 13 Parish Churches and 5 non- conformist churches.

The parish churches were: St Wilfred’s; St. Mary’s (Kairos); St Robert’s Pannal; St Mark’s; Christ Church; St Andrew’s, Starbeck; St John’s and Holy Trinity, Knaresborough; All Saints, Ripley; St Thomas the Apostle, Killinghall; St John’s, Bilton; St Luke’s, and of course St Peter’s.  The other churches were Starbeck Methodist; Gracious Street Methodist and URC; Killinghall Methodist and Bilton URC.

At each church, they paused to pray for the church leaders and congregations, as well as their surrounding communities.  Rebecca and Bethany, Helen’s daughters, joined them for the last 9 miles and completed a circular walk from Bilton.

Meanwhile, Cath, Daniel, Megan and Dylan Brewer completed a family route: St Luke’s; Mowbray; West Park URC; and St Peter’s.  Here are Megan and Dylan at St Luke's Church.

Nick, Jan, Maisie and Jacob Bursell followed a different route: Kairos, the Jewish Synagogue, St Peter’s, West Park URC, St Paul’s URC, Harrogate Baptist and Christ Church.

Sarah Martin was joined by Alex and Zak Armour (with Scruff the dog) and completed their walk on Monday: St Peter’s, Wesley Methodist; St Wilfred’s; St Mary’s; Trinity Methodist; West Park URC; Harrogate Baptist; and St John’s.
