The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

This Sunday, 5th June, we celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with at special Jubilee Service at 11.00am featuring: 

  • I was glad (C. H. H. Parry - composed for the Coronation of King Edward VII in 1902 and sung at every Coronation subsequently.)
  • Hymn: Come down, O Love divine
  • Te Deum (Britten in C - sung at the recent memorial service for HRH The Duke of Edinburgh)
  • Hymn: All people that on earth do dwell (a metrical version of Psalm 100 - sung at the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II)
  • Anthem: Zadok the Priest (Handel - composed for the Coronation of King George II in 1727 and sung at every Coronation subsequently)
  • The Sermon: Professor Richard Morris
  • Hymn: Now thank we all our God
  • The National Anthem (with Fanfare by Gordon Jacob - composed for the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1953)
  • Organ voluntary: Coronation March 'Orb and Sceptre' (William Walton - composed for the Coronation of HM Queen Elizabeth II)

On the afternoon of Sunday 5th June, at 4.00pm please also feel welcome to join us for a Picnic on the Stray (near the Vicarage).
