St Peter’s Harrogate

New logo created to celebrate St Peter's 150th Anniversary

Following the joining together of High and Low Harrogate the land on which St Peter’s Church now sits became the very centre of the new town.  The owner of this precious plot, Mary Anne Fielde, donated her house to be the vicarage, and her garden as the location for a church and a school.  The school was built first and served as a place worship from 1860 onwards – until the new church was consecrated in October 1876.  The tower was then commissioned one hundred years ago, in 1926. During 2026 we will be taking the opportunity to reflect with thankfulness on all that has been possible because of the dedication and faithfulness of the people of St Peter’s over the last 150 years.  The focus of our celebrations will be at the end of June.
