The narrative of J.S.Bach's work is taken from St. Matthew's Gospel and the original German libretto has been newly translated for this performance by John Longstaff and Andrew Greenan. The guest singers are Joseph Doody, Philip Wilcox, Jenny Stafford, Heather Lowe, James Micklethwaite and Andrew Greenan with the choir of St Peter's Church, Vocalis and Harrogate Bach Players. The organist is Alan Horsey and John Longstaff is the director.
