Meet the new Area Dean -

The Bishop of Leeds has invited Alan Garrow to serve as Area Dean for the Harrogate Deanery, as from 1st January 2022. There are six area deans who work with the Area Bishop, The Rt Revd Dr Helen-Ann Hartley, and the Archdeacon, The Ven Jonathan Gough, to care for the clergy and parishes in the Ripon Episcopal Area. Harrogate Deanery covers Harrogate, Knaresborough, Starbeck, Wetherby and surrounding villages.
His role will be to help order and support mission and ministry amongst these churches, representing the local situation in wider conversations about planning, policy, and deployment. He will also have a role in supporting local parishes as they transition between clergy.
