Handbells

The Harrogate Bellringers practise on hand bells every Thursday afternoon (2pm) at Wesley Chapel, linking up with the tower bellringers for many functions. We have a set of 28 Malmark handbells (G4 – B6) as well as a set of Shaw handbells in the tower. We ring tunes in harmony from music notation and have a wide repertoire. If we enjoy it, we ring it!

Our main objective is to enjoy ourselves and to enable people to take part in a musical activity when they might not otherwise have any opportunity to do so.
“If we enjoy it, we ring it!”
Occasionally we are invited to entertain different groups in the town. We make no charge for this, but are sometimes given a donation towards St Peter’s Breakfast Club. Our group is made up of individuals with a very wide range of musical and other abilities. Handbell ringing is team work in a most satisfying form.  If you would like to know more about handbell ringing, contact Hannah Beck on 01423 564942 or send her an email.
