Leonard Bernstein Concert

Vocalis, Harrogate’s chamber choir are holding a Bernstein Centenary Celebration concert at 7.30pm on Saturday 24th March in St Peter’s Church Cambridge Street, Harrogate HG1 1PB. Conducted by their talented young Musical Director Alexander Kyle, this celebratory concert will include excerpts from West Side Story and a performance of Bernstein’s energetic and tuneful Chichester Psalms. Also included are Parry’s splendid anthem ‘I Was Glad’ and a rare performance of Copland’s challenging but wonderful ‘In the Beginning’ with a beautiful mezzo-soprano solo which will be sung by soloist Charlotte Kitson. Vocalis will be accompanied by John Longstaff, Director of Music and Organist at St Peter’s Church and percussionist Taneli Clarke. Wine and soft drinks will be available in the interval.

Tickets are £12 in advance or £15 at the door, free for under 16s and carers accompanying people requiring assistance. Tickets are available online at www.harrogatevocalis.org.uk, email:
