Find out more about Compassion UK

On Sunday 21st January we welcome back Clare Nelson, Regional Manager for Compassion UK, an international, Christian, child development organisation that works in some of the world’s poorest countries. She visited St Peter’s this time last year to tell us about the HG1000 campaign – to see 1,000 children lifted out of poverty through child sponsorship in the HG postcode area. This involves committing to a child’s education and welfare, with a monthly donation of £25, by praying for them and through writing letters. Clare asked us to think about sponsoring a child and after her visit around twenty children were sponsored by members of St Peter’s Church. The church project that we are partnering with is in Muhondo, Musanze District in Northern Rwanda. We hope to build on this partnership over the years, perhaps sponsoring more children, funding some kind of development or even taking our Church on a trip to Rwanda!
Clare will be preaching at the 9:30 Family Communion and the 11:00 Choral Matins services
