Young people’s activities

Guides

The 10th Harrogate (St Peter’s) Guides unit continues to thrive. We meet on Tuesdays from 7pm till 8.30pm. The girls plan their own Patrol time and in the last year have tried many crafts including glass-painting, quilling and card-making, as well as working towards numerous badges. Occasionally we have themed evenings and take part in the local St George’s Day Parade and various Guide Challenges. For more information contact Sue Mackay on 01423 564568.

Senior Section

Have 12 girls currently between ages 14 – 18 together with 1 adult leader and 1 or 2 occasional helpers.  The girls work towards Look Wider Challenges, the Duke of Edinburgh Award, Queen’s Guide Award, Young Leader  qualification and Adult Leader qualification – again further developing their skills, independence and confidence.

The Boys’ Brigade : the adventure begins here

Our group of dedicated and dynamic leaders run a Boys’ Brigade company for 5 to 18 year olds.   The  calendar includes hikes and walks, festivals and camps, sleepovers and bowling.   Please contact John Broadberry via the C0ntacts page, for details of times and dates.

We believe that by engaging in exciting activities, making new friends, having fun and finding out about faith, children and young people can discover their full potential.  Come and join the adventure on Wednesday evenings.

Check out the Boys’ Brigade website : www.boys-brigade.org.uk

Confirmation

We usually expect our Junior candidates for confirmation to have started at secondary school, aged 11 and above, and we meet weekly for about 10 sessions before the confirmation service.  Please contact Alan Garrow, our Vicar for more information about Junior Confirmation.
