Children’s activities

Creche and Toddler Group     (0 – 4 years)

Freddie and friends

Our parents and toddlers

On Thursday mornings at 9.30am we hold a toddler group for pre-school children up to the age of four years. We begin with a story and prayer in the church, and then have a break for refreshments and play in the hall at St Peter’s Church.  Do come along if you would like to join our friendly group.  The leader is Frances Roxby-Proud.

Little Lights  (parents and small children)

On Sunday during the 9.30 Family service parents can take their children to the Gallery where there are toys, while the service is broadcast via the sound system.  Everybody rejoins the main congregation for Communion or a blessing.

Sunday Club (Reception – Year 6)

sp_105

Sunday Club offers children aged 4 to 11 the chance to have fun and learn about Jesus and his teachings.  We meet every Sunday during term time (apart from the first Sunday in the month) during the 9:30 am Family Communion Service.  Our aim is to introduce Bible stories to the children in an accessible and meaningful way.  Sunday Club sessions offer the children the chance to share what they have been doing during the week, play games and join in creative craft activities.  We rejoin the service at the end of Sunday Club at which point we share what we have been doing with the rest of congregation.

There are two age-groups: one for children in Reception to Year 2, and one for Year 3 to Year 6.  At Sunday Club we welcome all children, from any and every church or non-church background.

Rainbows

The 10th Harrogate (St Peter’s) Rainbows meet on Tuesdays between 4pm and 5pm. We currently have 10 Rainbows aged between 5-7 years, and together we plan a term of activities, mixing fun and learning. At present we have a waiting list for entry.  The leader is Mel Oliver who is contactable via the Parish Office.

Bell boatingBrownies

The 10th Harrogate (St Peter’s) Brownies meet on Tuesdays from 5.45pm till 7pm (term-time only).  At present we have 24 girls who spend their time playing games, doing various types of craft work and generally having fun. Trips out are also organised from time to time. If you would like to find out more about us, please contact Kate Blake or email her via the Parish Office on our contacts page.

The Boys’ Brigade : the adventure begins here

Our group of dedicated and dynamic leaders run a Boys’ Brigade company for 5 to 18 year olds.   Our regular calendar of events includes hikes and walks, festivals and camps, sleepovers and bowling.

We believe that by engaging in exciting activities, making new friends, having fun and finding out about faith, children and young people can discover their full potential.  Come and join the adventure. All groups meet on Wednesday evenings.

To secure your place and for further information, contact John Broadberry on 01423 507969 or email via our Contacts page.
