  1. The West window, and below, a roundel, showing an angel appearing to St Peter in prison.
  2. Eight stone heads representing Archbishops of Canterbury and York.
  3. The famous Punch cartoon – ‘Who goes there?”
  4. The four corbels representing the Archangels Gabriel, Uriel,Raphael, and Michael.
  5. The ‘golden gates’ – of gilded iron work, given by the Architect of St Peter’s, Mr Hirst.
  6. The organ, – the last one built by the famous organ builder Schultze, which has been greatly enlarged by William Walker.
  7. The reredos which had the outer wings added to form a triptych during the diamond jubilee of the church in 1936.
  8. A window which shows three of the sons of the first Vicar, the Rev. Lundy Foote, who were killed in the first world war.
  9. A stone carving of the devil hiding his face from the carving of Jesus blessing the children.
  10. Two seats made by Thompson “the mouse man”. His signature is a carved mouse. Other examples of his work are the High Altar altar rail and the pews in the Lady Chapel.
  1. An Altar, where we celebrate Holy Communion and kneel to receive the bread and the wine.
  2. The pulpit (made of caenstone onyx) where sermons are preached.
  3. The Lectern, the eagle symbol of St John, where the Bible is read.
  4. The Font, where we baptise people as they begin their Christian life.

    Our annual Animal Service is next Sunday 30th September at 4:30 pm (refreshments will be served from 4:15 pm). All animals are welcome, or just bring a photo of your pet, for a blessing.

  • Farewell Lunch for Caroline and Tim Hurren

    Our Associate Vicar, Tim Hurren will be retiring from St Peter’s Church after almost 20 years of service. To mark Tim’s retirement and, of course, to say farewell, there will be a bring and share Parish Lunch on Sunday 16th September starting at 1 o’clock.
