Our overseas mission

St Peter’s is committed to overseas mission and has an Overseas Mission Task Group dedicated to this work.  The Group’s brief is as follows:

1. To keep the needs of the Anglican Communion, Christians of other traditions and people of other faiths before our congregations. To learn from them what they are doing and to pray for them and support them.

2. To keep abreast of the activities of of missionary organisations and Christian charities (including Christian Aid and Amnesty International) and to bring current issues to the attention of the congregations. To recommend annually to the PCC a list of charities to support.

3. To be specially aware of those persecuted for their faith and to pray for them and support them.

4. To foster links between St Peter’s and other churches overseas for our mutual benefit.
