Who’s who
Tony Shepherd, Vicar
As Vicar of a large, busy town centre church, Tony is involved in a wide range of statutory and voluntary bodies. He is Chair of Governors of St Peter’s Primary School, sits on the CCTV panel for the town, is a member of the local Chamber of Trade and is on the Executive of the Local Strategic Partnership. He is the elected Clergy Chair of the Diocesan Synod and serves on a number of Diocesan committees and groups. He tries to be in touch with about 700 attendees of St Peter’s church, and, as and when time allows, he is an obsessional golfer, a fanatical collector of old postcards of Ripon, and a half-hearted collector of old English dictionaries published before 1851. He is husband to Ann, father to Dave and Jude, and now grandfather to Emily, Gwen, Ralph and Molly.
Tim Hurren – Associate Priest
Tim Hurren, former Curate at St Peter’s, has returned to the fold after a short sabbatical, and we welcome him back in his role as Associate Priest. Apart from his work at St. Peter’s Tim is involved in two local charities, Supporting Older People and Wellspring Therapy and Training. He also serves the Diocese of Ripon and Leeds as Chairman of the Diocesan Council for Mission. He is married to Caroline who belongs to Kairos Church (formerly St. Mary’s) and they have two children and five grandchildren. They love exploring the countryside in their motorhome and Tim’s special interests include World Music, singing and a wide variety of reading.

Sue Pearce – Associate Vicar
I have lived in Harrogate nearly all my life and absolutely love being in such a beautiful town. I began my working career as a secretary and went on to teach at Harrogate College. Married to John I have a son, a daughter and five lively grandchildren. I am a member of Nidderdale Tangent and Harrogate Inner Wheel and love walking and travelling. Ordination came late in life, but I very much enjoy being involved with St. Peter’s and the opportunities it brings to encourage others to deepen their faith and bring others to a greater understanding of their own spirituality.
Bernadette Hegarty – Curate
I moved to Harrogate to take up the position of Curate at St Peter’s, having trained residentially at the College of the Resurrection in Mirfield. Before that I lived in Leeds for about 12 years and worked in health and social care. I grew up in Northern Ireland but feel very much at home in Yorkshire – I guess it’s the beautiful countryside and the warmth of the people!   I am enjoying being involved in the life of Christ at St Peter’s and remain deeply touched by the warmth of my welcome. It is an honor and privilege to serve God among you.
           Charlotte Bonini – Churchwarden
Charlotte has been an active member of St Peter’s Church congregation since 2001.  She lives in the Parish and works for a local recruitment company. Charlotte was born in Knaresborough, went to Birmingham College of Food and Arts, and lived and worked in Switzerland and America before returning to Harrogate.  Charlotte was elected as Churchwarden in September 2012.
